Programs

Fit Hockey Academy’s programs are built on these five pillars:

  • Speed: Whether recovering to help the team defensively break down a transition play, or running free down the field after beating a defender, the ability to quickly accelerate to top speed is an essential element of the game.

  • Agility: Both breaking down the feet in the defensive approach and taking quick steps when the ball is tapped to the player require quick, nimble, efficient footwork. We take practicing and refining these skills seriously to make our athletes the most effective on the field.

  • Strength: Weight, balance, and resistance training helps our athletes maximize power in their legs, core, shoulders, and upper body - training that is crucial in their development as athletes, while also to preventing jury.

  • Power: Our athletes constantly need to react with dynamic movements - whether breaking out of a block tackle or the quick twitch of hips and core in a rocket drive on cage. We train our athletes to apply their strength quickly and explosively.

  • Endurance: The ability to exert yourself for a full 60-minute game and run faster and longer than your opponents will help our athletes outperform the competition, no matter the level.

Group Session

FIT hockey will offer group series and training series based on age and ability.  Each group session will include aspects of our 5 pillars.  Specific days will have specific focuses and by participating in our sessions long-term we will help athletes reach peak

ALL SESSIONS will integrate stick skills and on-field dribbling and tracking to help girls boost skills and reach peak “hockey shape”. Be prepared to run on either track, gym or turf surfaces. FOR EVERY SESSION, athletes should have equipment necessary to do non-contact stick work drills, running with the ball, and shooting!

Private Lessons/Small Group Sessions

Private and semi-private lessons can be targeted to meet the needs of the individual or group as necessary. Goals for the session will be set prior to meeting and can be centered more on fitness or more on stick skills and game tactics based on the need of the player and group.

Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can do what others can’t.
